And increasingly lighter, but <strong>why does an electric bike weigh so much?<\/strong> <br\/><br\/><\/p>&#13;\n\r\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">&#13;\n<p>The answer is really simple: an electric bike needs two essential components for its operation, which are the motor (3 kg approx.) and the battery (3.5 kg approx.) and that is precisely what <strong>weighs<\/strong> the most and is also what makes the difference with respect to a conventional bike.<\/p>&#13;\n&#13;\n\r\n\r\n&#13;\n<p>From a research and development point of view, one has to ask whether it is worth the effort to make a lighter (and much more expensive) bike if you can&#8217;t reduce the weight of the motor or the battery.<\/p>&#13;\n<p>Where the weight of an <strong>electric bike<\/strong> will be most noticeable is on a climb, but for that we have a motor and several modes of assistance that will greatly facilitate the climb.<\/p>&#13;\n<p>In short, the weight could be a drawback only if you have to carry the bike up a flight of stairs or put it in a trunk. Although in these cases, you may well opt for a folding <strong>electric bike<\/strong>, much lighter than you think. <\/p>&#13;\n<p><strong>An electric bike will allow you to ride longer distances<\/strong>, regardless of your age, physical condition or experience on a bike. <strong>The motor will help you in those moments when it is more difficult to get there <\/strong>and you will select the level of assistance you need in each case.<\/p>&#13;\n<p>But don&#8217;t stop pedaling, this is not a motorcycle. \ud83d\ude0a \ud83d\ude0a it&#8217;s a bike!<\/p>&#13;\n<p>The weight of the motor (3 kg approx.) and the battery (3.5 kg approx.) and just that is what <strong>weighs<\/strong> the most.<\/p>&#13;\n<p>In short, the weight could be a drawback only if you have to carry the bike up a flight of stairs or put it in a trunk.
